Video of Continuous Dust-free Carbon Black incorporation into water at 20% W/W
Carbon Black incorporation into water to produce slurry is a very difficult process due mainly to the hydrophobic nature of the materials. In the conventional batch incorporation process, many users face the problems of getting the carbon black powder into water due to aforementioned reason and the problems with lumps formation, dusting into the environment and very long mixing time. Batching method becomes a big hindrance when the users begin to consider a continuous process for large production capacity.
IKA’s proprietary Continuous Solid Incorporation Machine (based on the renown series 2000) has been used successfully for the past 10 years with many large scale manufacturers for smooth, consistent continuous carbon black slurry. The video depict such a set-up for small scale continuous production of the slurry.
